  Having eaten here​ before, I knew that the food, service and decorations would all be lovely. On my most recent visit I was even more so amazed due to the staff inviting us up to a private function room. They had ran out of room in their Garden Room Restaurant, so offered the King George Room instead. As per usual, service was fantastic, with our own dedicated waiter who stuck around and assisted with drinks, queries and food. Food was lovely, despite the restaurant being booked out and the size of the party I was with. All in all, worth going!

  The George Hotel of Stamford is a grand and fascinating relic. It stands out even amongst the stone-built elegance of Stamford. Information about it's 800 year history is available at Reception. We dined in the Lambert Room, an intimate wood-pannled space isolated from bustle of the town. The service evokes a bygone age of luxury, and the food comes in generous portions. I recommend the roast beef!
